Invade Agro Group (IAG) Announces Major Diversification Strategy in East Africa, Targets Europe and US Markets
DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA JAN 29, 2025 – Invade Agro Group, a leading agro-inputs and commodity trading conglomerate, has announced an ambitious diversification strategy in East Africa, alongside plans for global expansion into West Africa, Europe, and the United States. With existing operations in Tanzania and India encompassing over 100 branches and more than 250 employees, the Group aims to strengthen its position in both downstream (agro-inputs) and upstream (commodity trading) businesses.
The company, reporting annual revenues of approximately USD 400 million, views Rwanda as a strategic gateway to the broader East African region. It will establish its global headquarters in Rwanda to coordinate expanding regional and global footprints.
The company is finalizing the construction of an 800-metric-ton-per-day fertilizer production facility in Tanzania, reinforcing its commitment to shore up local agricultural productivity. Plans are also underway to set up a specialized seed manufacturing factory in Rwanda, focusing on organic seeds and agrochemicals to meet the rising demand for sustainable farming inputs in East Africa, West Africa, and beyond.
Invade Agro Group’s growth extends well beyond the region. It aims to enter key markets in West Africa, Europe, and the United States with agro-inputs (seeds, fertilizers, agrochemicals) and broaden its commodity trading portfolio in niche, high-value exports.
In a major strategic move, Invade Agro Group is preparing for a dual listing on the Indian National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) in September 2025, targeting a market capitalization of around USD 8 billion.
“The upcoming listing on the NSE and BSE will be transformative. It will enable us to secure the investments necessary to broaden our reach, enhance R&D, and forge strategic partnerships that elevate our status as the premier agro-inputs and commodity trading leader in both Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Subcontinent,” added Mr. Chotalia.
Ongoing and planned projects align with the Group’s broader mission of promoting food security, championing sustainable agricultural practices, and creating tangible value throughout the entire agricultural ecosystem.
By positioning Rwanda as its global headquarters, Invade Agro Group intends to bridge both emerging and established markets, fostering innovation and prosperity in agriculture worldwide.
