Intercontinental Nairobi Celebrates 'Responsible Business Day'

Nairobi Kenya 21 September 2010- Intercontinental Hotel Nairobi Wednesday joined its global affiliates in celebrating Responsible Business Day, which highlights the work that Intercontinental hotels and resorts around the world are doing to sustain and enhance their local destination.

In a statement, the hotel said that this year’s celebration have focused on the on helping the less privileged children in Kenya and enhancing efforts towards conserving the environment.

Intercontinental Hotels Group, in partnership with National Geographic's Center for Sustainable Destinations, regularly take part in activities that ensure their location remains an appealing place to visit for future generations.

“Our activity is inspired by Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts’ Five Principles of Responsible Business, which have been developed in association with National Geographic’s Geotourism Code of Good Practice - Integrity of Place, Destination Appeal Community Appeal Sharing our Stories and Minimising Impact, “said Mr. Karl Hala the Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) Director for Sub Saharan Africa.
